Step 1 — Create an Account and Choose a Membership Option

Step 2 — Confirm Eligibility and Prepare Documents
Eligibility follows a points model that converts education, work experience and training into qualifying credits. Most experienced practitioners qualify on work experience alone; juniors may need to add training credits. Typical documents include ID and proof of education or employment — the Chinese channel lists them in a checklist you can work through item by item. If you are unsure whether your points suffice, fill in the application as a draft first; the system will tell you what is missing.
Step 3 — Pay and Wait for Review
After review you pay according to your order. Costs generally comprise the exam fee plus optional textbook or training packages. Three practical checks before paying: confirm the exam language and syllabus version printed on the order; confirm the payee and invoice details when using the mainland channel; and keep the payment receipt for scheduling.
Step 4 — Schedule the Exam
Once approved, you book a seat at a cooperating test centre — the Chinese exam is delivered by computer. Watch three details: your name must match your ID exactly; confirm the language is Chinese; and keep the confirmation letter. Rescheduling is allowed before the deadline under the rules of the sitting.
Step 5 — Exam Day
Arrive 30 minutes early with valid ID. The interface will feel familiar if you have practised with an online question bank. Question counts and duration are adjusted by the provider from time to time — the details on your admission ticket prevail. Strategy-wise: scenario questions dominate, so read the question before the material, and when two options both look plausible, return to the risk-based principle.
Step 6 — Certificate and Maintenance
Passing candidates receive the certificate electronically first. CAMS is not valid for life: holders complete annual continuing-education credits and pay an annual fee to maintain it. Put the credits on your calendar the month you pass.
